Devil In The Detail SRD · 2022 starts here as ladies will make history against the old enemy  It was a historic day for Salford Red Devils as the ladies team played their 1st game since their creation and beat rivals Swinton Lions at the AJ Bell Stadium. Head Coach Chris Bates should be proud of his girls. From acorns big trees grow and there were plenty of positives on show to think this group of ladies are on a track to something special. After a solid 1st ten minutes of the contest history was made as Vannessa Hadley scored Salford's 1st try, Sam Boyes doubled the Red Devils lead with a powerful run leaving the Swinton defence in her wake as the ladies went into half time 8-0 up. Salford ladies were pegged back early in the 2nd half by Swinton when Cloe Birkett showed skill bamboozling the Salford defence and going over in the corner. to make the score 8-4. The game was still in the balance at this point and it needed a special piece of skill to turn it Salford's way, good

Devil In The Detail SRD · 2022 starts here as ladies will make history against the old enemy It was definitely big coat weather this afternoon at the AJ Bell Stadium but despite the chill in the air a lovely sunny setting welcomed the players to the pitch at kick off. Their was hardly any wind whatsoever and the conditions were perfect for Rugby League. Two old rivals with years of history behind them lined up to face each other once again. Swinton were relegated from the Championship last season and in 2022 will be looking for a big season in League one. Salford had quite a few new faces in their line up. Ryan Brierley started at fullback and Deon Cross made the side to play centre. Brodie Croft and Marc Sneyd made debuts at half back. In the pack King Vuniyayawa and Sita Akauola started the match as the props, exciting youngster Jack Stevens made the bench alongside Alex Gerrard who signed just a few days ago.  The Lions made a really bright start to the match troubling Salford dow
