  It was Derby Day at the Brick Stadium in Wigan on Saturday as fierce rivals Salford RLFC and Swinton Lions faced off in the championship in glorious Sunshine. 1 st opportunity of the game went Swinton Lions way after 6 nervous minutes for both sides a strong run by Swintons Josh Eaves created space on the outside but a forward pass by Centre Arron Lynch trying to find Ellis Anderson let Salford off the hook. A 26 man brawl broke out shortly after as Derby Day tensions spilled out on the field. Both sets of players did not take a backward step, Salford's Danny Lynch Charlie Glover were both sent to the Sin bin for potential part of a tip tackle or the frackar that followed and Salford were down to 11 men after 8 minutes.   Salford travelled to Widnes looking to get back to Winning ways after last weeks home defeat against London, Owain Able was a noticeable absentee from Dave Hewitt's starting 17 with Callum Green slotting into Scrum half position. Keane Gilford and Jack Homes were on the wings for Salford and Sadiq Ayanlaja Lowo made his debut for the club off the bench. A Solid start for both teams in the 1 st 5 minutes Widnes made a half break but as the ball went to ground it was kicked dead and Salford brought the ball away Salford Centre Joe Hartley had Salford's 1 st opportunity, Widnes were on the attack approaching Salford 20 metre line a long ball he intercepted and raced away after 10 minutes but the ref had judged that knock on had took place much to his disbelief as he walked back into his space in the defensive line.   It was another glorious Sunny day at the Corpacq as Salford faced off against the London Broncos. Before the game it was announced that Marc Sneyd will rejoin the club for the 2027 season on a two year deal, the crowd stood as one and celebrated this fantastic news.  It was a changed line up for Salford RLFC as a couple of long term absentees got back onto the field with Winger Jack Holmes and and Forward Charlie Glover taking their place back in the starting 17 which boosted Dave Hewitt's squad ahead of the contest. London opened the scoring after 6 minutes when 2 nd row forward Luke Smith cut though the Salford defence to score, London smelt blood and doubled their lead when good hands sent Centre Robert Mathias over for his 1 st score, Fullback James Meadows converted one and missed one and it was 0-10 to London after 11 minutes.   VALLIANT REDS DAMAGE LIMITATION SUCCESS Salford RLFC 0 Castleford Tigers 22 It would be difficult to imagine two more contrasting sides than those on display in this ladies’ home league fixture with Castleford, on Sunday afternoon, with the Salford players being overshadowed by the significant physical prowess of the much more mature stature of the visitors. It was in their contrasting styles of play however, that the difference became most evident, with each team playing very much to their strengths, and both doing so extremely well. The quite notable improvement in the teamwork of the Salford side, over the season, progressed to a new high. Their ball-handling skills has now reached the point at which they were able to dominate possession for reasonably lengthy periods in a game, in which they were so outsized by a much bigger, stronger opposition, that it became a a great asset. Salford RLFC 24 Sheffield 30 Match report

  It was another warm and sunny day at the Corpacq Stadium as Salford RLFC welcomed Sheffield Eagles. Salford had Jake Thewlis in the team on loan from Warrington and Shaun Costello back at loose forward after a few weeks out injured and Joe Hartley also returned to the centre position. It was a conservative start from both sides as the sun beat down from the sky above. With both sides in the arm wrestle Salford opened the scoring after 10 minutes with good work from Brad Dwyer around the ruck  he cut Sheffield Eagles defence to ribbons and crashed over to the delight of the Salford faithful in the South Stand. Kieran Dixon missed the conversion and Salford lead 4-0. A short kick off from Sheffield was a positive act from them and good work by Jordan Abdul sent winger and ex Salford player Billy Walkley over for their 1 st score of the game. Salford 64 NW Crusaders 4 Match report

  Salford RLFC continued their charge towards a playoff spot with a convincing win against the North Wales Crusaders on Sunday. Salford RLFC faced North Wales Crusaders at a cloudy but pleasant the Corpacq stadium, the game was built as the Salford RLFC Foundation take over day as kids from the surrounding area helped run the club on the match day. There were also events outside the stadium with wheelchair rugby and rugby festivals taking place for the crowds to watch as they waited for the match to start. It's a much changed Salford RLFC starting 17 with Owain Abel moving to Fullback and Kieran Dixon moving to the wing position. Lewis Pilling came back into the 17 after missing out last week and reigniting his partnership with Toby Hughes in the half's. Riley Johnson a product of the Rising Stars program and Scholarship team in 2025 started on the bench.   Salford RLFC suffered late heart ache as Barrow Raiders took the points with a late controversial penalty, but Dave Hewitt's men will gain confidence going forward from pushing a top championship team all the way. The last few days in Salford had been roasting hot, Sunday however was slightly cooler at the Corqac Stadiums but the fans on the terrace were still hoping for some red hot action on the field. Salford starting line up had a few changes in with Toby Hughes coming back in after missing last weeks game he was partnered with Owain Abel in the Half's, Lewis Pilling was selected as 18 th man. Sam Bowing and Shaun Costello were absent with Danny Lynch promoted to the starting 13 in the front row and Cameron Bate playing loose forward. Fin Yates returned to the starting 17 from the bench.
