Swinton Lions recorded their 1st Points of the season drawing with Keighley at Heywood Road in a thrilling encounter. Swinton opened the scoring after 3 minutes as Connor Parkinson dived over in the corner, Reece Briers converted and the Lions lead 6-0. The Lions were in good form playing some exciting stuff for new coach Alan Murray who was celebrating again when after 8 minutes Parkinson found his way over for his 2nd of the game after minutes. Briers goaled again  and Swinton lead 12-0. Keighley came back into the contest after 24 minutes when George Flanagan crashed over by the posts to half their lead with a goal from Izac Farrell. Keighley has the momentum at this point and Swinton had to battle hard, fortunately for Swinton they came up with a sucker punch as Fullback Louise Roberts direct from a scrum extended their lead after 33 minutes. New sides take time to settle and to jell.
