Hull v Salford Match report
Last night saw two tries from Krisnan Inu helping Salford Red Devil’s to another win against Hull FC at the Halliwell Jones stadium. This can only boost the devils confidence ahead of the challenge cup semi final in a weeks time.
Salford started brightly and had an opportunity as Kris Welham crashed over the line from close range, unfortunately the try was disallowed for a knock on and Hull survived.
Hull opened the scoring as ex Salford favourite Josh Griffin burst through the Salford defence and fed Jamie Shaul who scored for the Airlie birds.
Salford levelled the scores after 18 minutes, Dan Sarginson and Kevin Brown linked up to send Krisnan Inu over the line to score. With Inu adding the extras the scores were tied.
Dan Sarginson was sent to the sin bin shortly after after he was penalised for a high tackle on Jamie Shaul and Salford had to play the next 10 minutes with 12 men.
The pressure built on Salford and Hull took advantage of their numerical advantage as Andre Savelio found a hole in the Salford defence to put Hull back in front.
Just before Dan Sarginson returned from the sin bin Salford hit back again through Joey Lussick, the Australian hooker showed all the speed and know how we have come to expect from him to find a gap near the Hull line to score. Inu added the extras to make it 12 all.
As Salford and Hull continued to push for a score with half time approaching The Red Devil’s were the team to get it, another piece of outrageous skill from Brown sent Inu over for his 2nd try with the conversion good Salford lead at half time.
Half time
Hull 12 Salford 18
Half time came and went and Salford kept up their momentum as stand-off Tui Lolohea came up with a chip kick which sent winger Rhys Williams over for the score to extend Salford’s lead to 10 points.
Jamie Shaul pulled a try back for Hull after 51 minutes but Salford were unfazed by this as Andy Ackers restored their 10 point buffer after some more magic from Brown finding the hardworking hooker who bulldozed over from close range.
Salford had another try disallowed by the video referee this time from Lolahea and Hull closed the gap again with a try from Jordan Lane but Salford powered to the final hooter to secure the win.
Ian Watson will be happy with the performance and result and will be looking forward to what is to come next weeks as the challenge cup semi final looms large.
