Salford v Catalan Match Report
Salford performed a 2nd half blitz against the Catalan Dragons to secure a victory back at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Salford who had to forfeit their last game against Warrington due to injuries showed the rest period created had done them the world of good with a strong performance.
The 1st half Catalan came out strong and registered the 1st try with Paul Séguier opening the scoring, James Maloney adds the extras for the French Team. It got better for The Dragons as Israel Folou found space to send over Tom Davis to score. 0-12 to Catalan and Salford looked out of sorts.
Salford got a foot back in the game tho with a try from Krisnan Inu who found space on the wing and squeezed over to score and then converted the extra 2 points against his former club.
The match became a bit of a arm wrestle and Catalan scored. Confusion rained in the Salford defence the ball was spilled and it was swooped on by Sam Kasiano who dived over to score.
The conversion was successful and Catalan had their two try buffer back approaching half time.
Salford probed in attack and came close on the hooter with Tyrone McCarthy having a try disallowed and Kris Welham diving but failing to score.

The 2nd half started brightly for Salford a sweeping move with Dan Sarginson and Kalum Watkins causing chaos in the Catalan defence were rewarded when Rhys Williams found a way over the line to score and Salford were back in contention at 12-18.
Salford were playing with confidence and were rewarded with another try, Krisnan Inu scored his 2nd of the game with Luke Yates and Dan Sarginson linking up to send the big winger over for his 2nd try
With Inu converting and the scores were level at 18-18.
The momentum was with Salford at this time and the Dragons failed to deal with that pressure as another sweeping move across the field created space for Tui Lola Hea to dive over to score, Inu converted and Salford lead 24-18.
Salford’s next try was from local lad Kalum Watkins, after a Pauli Pauli offload Watkins had the pace and the know how to squeeze over the line for his 1st try for Salford at the AJ Bell.With the conversion good again by Inu Salford’s lead of 30-18 looked a healthy one.
Tui Lola Hea grabbed his 2nd try after good work by Tyrone McCarthy running 40 yards to score under pressure and Salford fans watching at home would have been whooping with joy.
The final Salford try of the game came at the end of the match. A Krisnan Inu hatrick which he converted himself to give him a 100% kicking record was created by half the team with more good work from Dan Sarginson put the cherry on the cake for Salford.
Catalan scored a concelation try with David Mead on the hooter which was converted by James Maloney but that didn’t stop Salford celebrating this victory.
With the Super league deciding if the playoffs will be for four, six or eight teams, If the Super League decided to go with eight teams Ian Watsons men will be purring with excitement they could make it back to back grand finals this year.
