Salford Red Devil’s started their Challenge Cup campaign with a convincing win against Widnes at the AJ Bell stadium.
The Red Devil’s were to big and strong for their opponents throughout and showed good game management and intensity to keep the score board ticking over in the 2nd half.
Castleford Tigers are Salford's next opponents in the Challenge Cup, with the experience of last years heroics fresh in the minds of the players don’t bet against a return trip to Wembley in 2021.

Off the field Swinton Lions have been providing training for the Childern of Sale moor. Their home ground is Heywood Road in Sale and it’s great they are trying to build up support in the local area.
Next week the lions face Featherstone Rovers, ex Salford centre Kris Welham is one of their star performers so the Lions will be looking to use home advantage to get a win.
It was a won one lost 2 weekend for Manchester Storm as Ryan Finnerty’s men get into the swing of things in the Elite league.
A golden score win against Coventry Blaze will give the storm confidence going forward, Scott Simmons was the hero that night and he is fast becoming a important player for the Storm with his creativity.
Manchester Storm have found a goal scorer in Ciaran Long, He currently on top of the goal scoring chats in the Elite league and his predictor like instincts give Storm that extra edge in attack.
Defeat on Sunday night against Sheffield will upset the Storm but they have a lot of characters in that squad who can deal with the pressure and bounce back in the next week.
