Toulouse v Salford Red Devils Match report

 Toulouse open the scoring at 6 minutes the ball was moved wide and Salfords defence was breached by Mathieu Jussaume . The conversion was good and the French men lead 6-0.


It took Salford 25 minutes to level the scores Salfords scrum half Marc Sneyd with a trademark kick to the corner to set up the Salford Winger Joe Burgess for the score. Sneyd converted and after 30 minutes the score was tied.


Salford were looking dangerous with Brodie Croft coming close to a score for Paul Rowleys men, unfortunately it was Toulouse who registered the next points a drop goal by put Toulouse ahead

Toulouse had momentum and they tested the Salford defence, only a try saving ankle tap prevented a score by Joe Burgess as Paul Rowleys men tried to weather the storm.


With Half time fast approaching Toulouse we’re awarded a penalty which Hankinson converted and at the break Salford trailed 9-6.


The 2nd half started with Salford pressure Elijah Taylor went close as did Ken Sio, all Salfords hard work was rewarded as Ken Sio found space on end edge of the Toulouse defence to score his 1st try of the evening. Salford lead 9-10.

Ryan Brierley was forced of the field as was Danny Addy to add to Paul Rowleys injury woes.


Toulouse received a penalty on the 55th minute which they converted to retake the lead 11-10.


Salford struck straight back from a scrum a lovely offload by Tim Lafai sent Joe Burgess over the line for his 2nd score Mark Sneyd converted and Salford lead 

11-16.

Salford had momentum, Brodie Croft made a break and the panicked Toulouse defence conceded a penalty. Marc Sneyd pushed Salford 7 points clear.


Salford scored again 2 minutes later Andy Ackers and Brodie Croft linked up to send Ken Sio in for his 2nd try of the game.


Marc Sneyd kicked the conversion and there was still time for another try saving tackle by Joe Burgess in the dying seconds.

Salford are in a playoff spot, Paul Rowley and his players should be congratulated on their fantastic efforts and minerals show.


The next challenge is St Helens at Home on Sunday a win their and we could be persuaded the fairytale that Paul Rowley and his men walking out at Old Trafford might be not too far away.
