Salford Ladies v Hull FC Match report
Salford Red Devils ladies continued their fantastic form with a strong performance and win at home to Hull FC.
Alex Simpson started at Fullback in place of Luci Mckeown, Brogan Evans started in the centre and Sarina Tamou continued at Loose Forward.
Hull started with French international loanees Margot Canal and Anais Fourcroy on the wing and in the centre.
Salford started well moving the ball around testing the Hull defence and opened the scoring when England international Sarina Tamou powered her way over from close range to give Salford ladies the lead.
Hull asked questions of Salford defence when the ball was moved wide and a grubber kicked though from half way by Laura Anderson put Salfords defence on alert, it was organised and the danger passed.
Kate Garry went close when a Demi Jones kick bounced in goal but the Salford winger was unable to gather and score.
Salfords forward started to make metres down field as Hull concentrated on the edges of Salfords defence trying to find a break though.
GB Teachers international Alex Simpson was outstanding at fullback and was next on the score sheet for Salford , a lovely pass by Louise Fellingham sent Simpson rampaging to the line from 10 metres out.
Soon after Yasmin Parton Sotomayor and Casey Naylors go forward attitude allowed Salford to create a sweeping move from right to left which caused chaos in the Hull defence, Salfords Winger Katie Garry had the pace to squeeze over in the corner for a try, on her birthday and Salford were in control.
After half time Salford extended their lead a superb individual effort from Abi Collins bursting the Hull line racing in from 30 metres which kept the score board ticking over.
Hull got on the score sheet when a kick to the corner caused problems for the Salford defence and Amelia Beech pounced.
Taz Cocoran who was busy round the ruck all day was next on the score sheet, a weaving run by Alex Simpson created a opportunity for scrum half Demi Jones to attack the Hull line, she fed Cocoran to race over from close range.
Another flowing Salford attack was rewarded when centre Sadie Rihari found a gap in the Hull defence.
Taz Cocoran scored her 2nd try created by Demi Jones and Louise Fellingham to complete Salfords try scoring of the evening
Demi Jones kicked 5 out of 7 conversations during the match as Salford stay top of the table.
Salford ladies next game is at home on Saturday to title rivals Oulton Raddetts on the AJ Bell community pitches. It promises to be a cracker of a game with the winner having one hand on the title.
