Devil In The Detail SRD · Looking to bounce back challenge cup style   Last seasons cup run to Wembley provided us with two frantic encounters full of excitement. The extra time victory over Catalans was followed by a breath taking finish against Warrington in the semi final. Salford over came the odds in both matches with a never say die attitude. The final at Wembley was just as thrilling. Old enemy Leeds were the opposition in a match that hung in the balance to the very last second. Perhaps last season wasn’t meant to be. After a 51 year wait supporters were cruelly denied the chance of a life time.  2020 was a strange season and I suppose the crumb of comfort you can take from losing that final is that the search for the holy grail goes on. How agonising would it of been if Salford had of won the cup with no one there to celebrate and share it.  Our 2021 campaign is a home tie with Championship side Widnes. Salford v St Helens Big Match Preview

  After a heavy defeat on Friday night Salford face another difficult task on Monday tea time backing up against the juggernaut of St.Helens. The current Super League Champions have been in blistering league form recently winning all ten matches since the season restarted in August. Their last Super League defeat came in March at Castleford. Ian Watson is an honest coach and never makes excuses. His side however were without eleven first choice players for the Wigan game and that’s hard going on a squad that’s not the biggest. With games coming thick and fast the next week or two are going to be extremely tough.  Salford have had moderate success in this fixture throughout the summer era with six memorable wins over the Saints. The 1997 fixture will go down as one of the most enjoyable. A game packed with incident and drama. Fast forward to 2016 and Salford thumped Saints at the AJ Bell Stadium 44-10 in one of those magical performances where everything seems to go perfectly. ...

Devil In The Detail SRD · International Womens day Salford ladies Captain Louise Fellingham Interview As Ive mentioned so many times before form and confidence in Rugby League can change so fast. Salford made a very solid start to the season with two victories but now after two pretty heavy defeats the mood is changing.  Paul Rowley remained positive and up beat after the defeat to Huddersfield and naturally he defended his players. I don’t think their was a lack of effort in Sunday’s 34-2 defeat but we do seem to be lacking the size and aggression needed. Huddersfield’s forwards looked a stone heavier and a foot taller as they pummelled Salford all afternoon. We never really looked like scoring but you can have the best back line in the world, if you haven’t laid the platform with your pack you won’t get the territory and field position. You’ve got to earn the right to play. I don’t think their is a quick fix for Salford but on the other hand I still don’t think it’s time to pan...
