When the season finished few if any Salford fans would have predicted what would have happened next. The news of Richard Marshalls departure will be hard to take for some, he has stated many times his ambition to coach at a higher level and fans of the club would accept through gritted teeth if this came to pass if he had departed for a NRL or elite Super League club. Ian Watson had already rejected a move from Hull Fc to secure his services last month many thought the Salford project would run for another season at least and with the financial situation improved because of the CVA and another attempt at glory would have taken place. Unfortunately it wasn’t ment to be. The challenge for Salford is to continue the progress made under Ian Watson with a new face incharge. There are lots coaches being linked to the Salford job, coaches who are experienced, who have had big jobs before. Salford v St Helens Match report

Playing St.Helens is a pretty stern test most times but backing up a couple of days after a bruising encounter with Wigan made tonight’s match even tougher for Salford. It was a showery afternoon in West Yorkshire with quite a heavy down pour an hour before kick off leaving the playing surface fairly greasy. Dan Sarginson returned to the Salford starting line up after his isolation period. Ed Chamberlain started in the centre and the only other significant change from last Friday’s match saw Connor Jones make the bench. St.Helens coach Kristian Woolf also made changes to his side handing debuts to five young players, Nico Rizzelli, Ben Davies and Tom Nisbett all in the starting thirteen. Matty Foster and Jake Wingfield made the bench. With the clocks changing yesterday their was a really winter feel to this match as we approach November. Saints got off to the perfect start. Salford Ladies v Hull FC Match report

Devil In The Detail SRD · French fancies, Stuart Wilkinson, Chinese Proverbs and "ULL FC"  Salford Red Devils ladies continued their fantastic form with a strong performance and win at home to Hull FC. Alex Simpson started at Fullback in place of Luci Mckeown, Brogan Evans started in the centre and Sarina Tamou continued at Loose Forward. Hull started with  French international loanees Margot Canal and Anais Fourcroy on the wing and in the centre. Salford started well moving the ball around testing the Hull defence and opened the scoring when England international Sarina Tamou powered her way over from close range to give Salford ladies the lead. Hull asked questions of Salford defence when the ball was moved wide and a grubber kicked though from half way by Laura Anderson put Salfords defence on alert, it was organised and the danger passed.
