Salford Red Devils v Castleford Tigers Match Report

Devil In The Detail SRD · Ladies in a semi, Rowleys men back to Winning ways as the clubs heart beats strong  It was a  damp and breezy evening welcomed the players on to the pitch for this televised clash. Once again the East stand was full of school children thanks to the great work Salford Red Devils are doing in the local area and this contributed to a good atmosphere. Salford coach Paul Rowley was again forced to make changes to his side. King Vuniyayawa is now out for the season and joins a list of injured forwards on the side lines. Morgan Escare came in at full back for Ryan Brierley who picked up a niggle prior to kick off. Tyler Dupree made the bench. Castleford struck early with a try on their first real attack. Ryan Hampshire got the try after a neat move down the flank. Salford we’re soon level when Marc Sneyd fooled the Tigers defence with a teasing kick. Salford v Castleford Big Match Preview

Devil In The Detail SRD · Ladies in a semi, Rowleys men back to Winning ways as the clubs heart beats strong A few weeks ago I said how Rugby League can be a cruel game. You don’t always get what you deserve. Last Sunday though Salford got the rewards for a thoroughly professional performance against Leeds. The Red Devils looked so dangerous with ball in hand scoring some super tries! I think the defence overshadowed that though. Time after time Salford held firm defending their try line. Leeds had plenty of ball in attacking positions and were denied tries on a number of occasions from some text book tackles.  It was also heart warming to see so many players returning from injury to bolster the squad. Salford can now start looking up the table. If the team can maintain the recent intensity levels they’ve performed at we could be in for an exciting summer.  Friday nights visitors Castleford made a slow start in 2022 but Lee Radford is starting to make his mark. The Tigers have won

Salford v Leeds Match report

Devil In The Detail SRD · Back in action as the Rhinos roll into town again   The way the league is structured these days you can play the same team home or away twice. That was the case on this occasion with Leeds visitors to the AJ Bell Stadium for the second time in 2022. The two sides met here two months ago when Salford stormed back in the second half to win 26-12. Since then the Red Devils have lost six straight matches however recent brave performances away at Wigan and St.Helens will certainly give the players some belief and confidence.  Leeds have faired better in their last six games with victories over Hull Kingston Rovers and Toulouse at Headingley and a draw against Huddersfield.  The Rhinos have a new coach in Rohan Smith and Zak Hardacker has returned to the club. Salford’s squad was stretched to the limit last time out at St.Helens. For today’s match the side was boosted by the return of key players. Joe Burgess, Ryan Brierley, Tim Lafai, Marc Sneyd and Elijah Taylor

Salford v Leeds big match preview

Image
Devil In The Detail SRD · Back in action as the Rhinos roll into town again   It’s seems quite a while since we last previewed a home match. After Easter Salford faced both Wigan and St.Helens away from home in back to back fixtures. Two tremendously brave performances with so much determination and will too succeed.  As we’ve said before Rugby League can be a cruel game. With a bit composure and a rub of the green Salford could have had two famous victories but the harsh reality is they lost both to extend a poor run of form. This weeks opponents Leeds have now gone above Salford in the league table. The Rhinos have picked up wins at home against Hull Kingston Rovers and Toulouse in their last two matches. They also bagged a 20-20 draw at home to Huddersfield and were narrowly beaten at Castleford 16-14 on Easter Monday. Considering the Yorkshire sides dismal start to the 2022 campaign they have certainly shown signs of improvement throughout April.  Leeds have been busy off the fie
